Background

Kit qualified as a solicitor in 1991 and has specialised in family law throughout her career. Having moved to Somerset in 1996, Kit has worked for a number of firms across the region and has experience as a Managing Partner alongside her family law practice. Kit is an accredited member of the Law Society’s Family Law Panel and has been a member of Resolution since qualifying. She is a trained Collaborative Family Lawyer and Resolution Together Lawyer.

Kit acts for a wide variety of clients dealing with the breakdown of cohabiting relationships as well as divorce. She has experience of cases involving farmers, business owners and overseas assets. She prides herself on offering an empathetic, efficient and cost effective service to all her clients regardless of their net worth or their complexity. She aims to provide pragmatic and realistic advice from the outset of a case so that clients can make properly informed decisions as to how they wish to move forward. She is passionate about ensuring that her clients are supported in navigating a very difficult time in their lives.

In addition to assisting when relationships break down Kit has considerable experience in working with clients to protect their assets by use of pre and post nuptial agreements and cohabitation agreements.

Outside the office Kit will frequently be found engrossed in a book and enjoys theatre and cinema trips. She is also the devoted slave of a ginger cat called Wellington.
