Kerry Wilkinson

Background

Kerry is a solicitor within the Care Team. She also undertakes private children act work.

Kerry completed her undergraduate studies at the University of West of England in 2021, where she obtained a first-class honours degree in Law. Following her undergraduate studies, Kerry completed the Legal Practice Course and a masters in Law at the University of Law in 2023, where she graduated with a distinction.

During her time at university, Kerry volunteered at her local Support Through Court office where she supported individuals going through the civil and family courts without representation. Kerry also participated in the Legal Advocacy Support Project at the Bristol Law Centre, where she worked within the welfare benefits team supporting individuals with first-tier tribunal appeals.

Kerry started her career within a Local Authority’s Childcare department, where she joined as a paralegal in January 2022.  In March 2022, she became a legal assistant within the Childcare department before she then commenced a specialist Childcare training contract with the council in November 2022. Kerry qualified as a solicitor within the Childcare department at the Local Authority in July 2024. During her time with the Local Authority, she advised on a wide range of public law matters, including care proceedings, pre-proceedings, discharge of care orders and revocation of placement orders.

Kerry is committed to supporting clients through some of life’s most challenging moments with empathy, clarity and determination. Having worked for the Local Authority, she can provide valuable advice to parents as to how the Local Authority approaches a case.

Spare Time

In her spare time, Kerry enjoys watching musicals, exploring the countryside with her four dogs, and spending time with family and friends.
