The Role You will be based in Pynes Hill, Exeter (outskirts). You will report to our Finance Manager and Client Services and Quality Manager You will form part of our reception team – both meeting and greeting clients on arrival at our offices and with telephone enquiries. You will be responsible for the onboarding of new clients including setting them up on our case management system and forwarding client care materials. You will be part of our telephone reception team. You will also assist with digital document management, diary management and document preparation (no audio typing). You will support Fee Earners and assist the Client Services and Quality Manager You will assist our Finance Manager with bill payments and postings as required. You will assist the progression our legal aid bills and payment claims including in liaison with our external cost’s draftsman. You will assist with credit control and billing Full-Time – five weeks holiday per annum. Salary Market rate/subject to experience. Range £18,000 – £21,000 (We are a Real Living Wage employer) Candidate specification You will have experience working in a solicitor’s office. High degree of general PC literacy – be able to use Word, Excel to an intermediate/advance level. Excellent interpersonal skills Key experience/skills/behaviours Excellent organisational and time management skills. Able to use own initiative. Proactive, flexible and able to adapt to changing business needs. Able to communicate with people at all levels within the organisation and build positive working relationships. Lively, enthusiastic team player with a proactive approach to their work. We are a relatively small and happy team and personality is important – because everyone needs to get on. NB – this is not a role which provides a route to qualification as a solicitor or legal executive. Progression with the role would be with the administration and smooth running of the practice.
