London Marathon 2016 here I come!

This year I ran the London Marathon in April and raise some money for the Devon Charity Balloons which offers free bereavement counselling for children. Whilst I am an okay runner, I am

not super fast and I am nowhere near being able to qualify for a “good for age” place. As everyone knows the chances of securing a London Marathon place through the public ballot are low. I have never been successful in the ballot. I gained my place this year through my local running club which is affiliated to UK Athletics.I very much enjoyed the experience of running the London Marathon but had thought it was going to be a one-off.

I was therefore extremely pleased and even more surprised when I received the attached letter from Virgin London Marathon saying that I had been successful in the ballot and have an offer of a running place in the 2016 London Marathon. I had better start training…..
